The ending suuuuuucks
What is it with Spielberg ruining the endings of movies, so that he can get his stupid theme across.
We would have got it without the ending of choice, since you were ramming it down our throats for the last 2 hours. It started off so good, too. Set the mood, the characters, everything, right quick. Knew where everybody stood.
The first scenes of destruction were cool. Then the movie kinda started to go down hill.
Tim Robbins seemed a little out of place. I love the guy. (Antitrust anybody!) But his character just seemed slightly off. Not in the hes' got a screw loose, which he does, but more of how he just didn't mesh with the rest of the flick.
Not as bad as the ending though. Speilberg and his endings. Man.
Jackass.
It's like in A.I.: Artificial Intelligence. That 2nd ending was soooo unnecessary. Waste of an half an hour.
The rest of the flick was pretty good I guess. Didn't realise that the story was going to be that small. Movie looked good.
Aliens kinda blow though. Nothing exciting on that front. Tripods were cool.
As for how the aliens were beaten back. This is what happened.
Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum flew up into space and uploaded a virus into the mothership thus corrupting the shields of all the other ships. Allowing us to attack the aliens without worrying about the shields.
That's right. Will Smith and Jeff Goldblum. The actors. Not the characters they played in ID4.
Praise tha lord!
